Camelot

In between all the "other" quilt things I do, I managed to put together the camelot blocks I made last year and beginning of this year.

Still debating if I will put my "Shanghai blocks" in the corners.
16 Camelot blocks Den Haan & Wagenmakers fabrics
The  blocks I made in Shanghai from the same "fabric box".

Will become a big quilt, but it is already big anyway.......
What do you think....

Happy quilting,

Camelot oh, Camelot

The end is nearly there. I am working on block number 15 at the moment.
Time to look for the other block I made while living in Shanghai during the lessons in a local quilt-shop. All made with the same den Haan & Wagenmakers fabric and all hand pieced.
Sit back and enjoy......

Camelot block 14?

Camelot block 9-14
Now the fun part starts, placing all the blocks in the right place......The 16 Camelot blocks will be placed on the point and the corner blocks will be my Shanghai blocks.
Will need to put up my design wall for this....

To be continued....

Happy quilting,

Roosters on the way to my sewing machine...

Today It was siggy day again. Received some beauties over the last week.

And there were my roosters walking towards my sewing machine...
Very eager to be sewn into siggies!! I bet they love the bright red and green from the Shanghai fabric as much as I do.

I love this little in between project. Keeps me thinking of all my quilt friends all over the world.

Happy sewing,

First Quilt Bee at my new home

Last night our quilt bee got together in my new home for the first time. Finally I have enough light and no more stuff on the dining room table and was ready to receive the ladies. We did some sewing, quilting and had a look at my sewing room.
For me this group is very important, because I am new in town. It gives me the feeling of being part of something special, sharing the passion for fabric and quilting.
I was so excited that I forgot to take pictures!! Here are some pictures from the day after......

Here some pictures of the show and tell in my sewing room.

Camelot first 2 blocks

Something I signed up for together with my friend Astrid. As if we don't have enough projects to keep us busy ..... Once every 2 months, we get the patterns for 2 blocks. Astrid gave me a box with 'den Haan & Wagenmakers' fabric some years ago. I want to add the camelot blocks to a few blocks I already made with this fabulous fabric while living in Shanghai.
All pieced by hand, I love it.

Wednesday - siggy day

I received a few siggies this week and this afternoon I will put 5 envelopes in the mail to make 5 ladies very happy!!
I really enjoy reading all the letters and looking at the different siggies. So far I received 7.
Don't know if every Wednesday will be a siggy-day, but for the moment I don't mind.
The Chinese fabric from Shanghai makes me think of all the lovely quilt meetings with our International Quilt group. I miss those weekly meetings and all the friends a lot.

Keep those envelopes coming!!

I went shopping....

Last week I was in Shanghai to accompany my husband to the annual dinner. Well, that was what he thought..... In fact I planned to see some friends (including 1 quilt friend), have lunch, do some sight seeing, shopping and yes I also went to the Annual Dinner.
We came home last night with 2 big bags filled with curtains for our new house (I never travel without the little notebook with all the measurement of windows and doors).
And in the picture you see the gifts I bought for all my old and new quilt friends.
Shanghai is a beautiful city, much cleaner and better organised than a few years back. I love the people and I always say:  zài jiàn
