Snow, siggie and camelot

I gave myself a snow day. No reason to go outside, only fun things to do inside!!

Finally I made some siggies again. I received one a long time ago, so tomorrow I will put my siggy in the mail to Italy.... The other 4 will find a new home somewhere in the Netherlands.


And these are the 2 new blocks of my Camelot quilt in the making. After this I have only 4 more to go.

Siggy update

Just 1 siggy to send this week. But look how much fun this one is. Because of the weather ( rain, rain and more rain) I like to look at this siggy and it brightens up my day.

Having a 'normal' siggy day again

Finally I managed to get some siggies in envelopes. Feels like ages, I went to the post office....

Roosters on the way to my sewing machine...

Today It was siggy day again. Received some beauties over the last week.

And there were my roosters walking towards my sewing machine...

Very eager to be sewn into siggies!! I bet they love the bright red and green from the Shanghai fabric as much as I do.

I love this little in between project. Keeps me thinking of all my quilt friends all over the world.

Hail, rain, thunder, lightning, siggy

What else can you do on a day like this than making siggies?  It is cold and wet and we even had some hail just now. No way I can get some planting done, so indoor activities for the moment. I don't mind....

I received a few new ones lately and the updated list so time to sew and send.

My collection is growing!!!
When you think of it: there is not a lot of difference between gardening and collecting siggies......

Siggy

This week I received my first siggy from Germany.

I have to smile every time I look at it. It is so bright and happy. But also because of the Ginkgo leaf, it reminds me of my friend Vreni. She made silver pendants using the ginkgo leaf.

Today I will put 3 siggies in the mail, on their way to brighten up another quilters' life.

Spring versus Siggy

When the weather is so nice and spring is in the air, I find it difficult to stay inside. The garden is calling. And more so the pile of 10 cubic meter of compost I ordered is screaming at me .......

But I want to keep you updated about my siggies. So here is the harvest from last week.

Thank you for this wonderful signature block Linda!! I will put mine in the mail today.
Still waiting for a few international siggies. Think I have sent 5 internationally, so every time the mailman comes to my house, I get all excited.

Siggy collection

My siggy collection is growing!! Today I will put 6 of my siggies in the mail. Some of them will find new homes outside the Netherlands.
This week I was happy to receive 4 beautiful little additions.

Wednesday - siggy day

I received a few siggies this week and this afternoon I will put 5 envelopes in the mail to make 5 ladies very happy!!
I really enjoy reading all the letters and looking at the different siggies. So far I received 7.
Don't know if every Wednesday will be a siggy-day, but for the moment I don't mind.
The Chinese fabric from Shanghai makes me think of all the lovely quilt meetings with our International Quilt group. I miss those weekly meetings and all the friends a lot.

New project

Now I have settled down a bit in my new house it was time to start a new project. I had been looking forward to this for a long time, but did not start because of all the packing and unpacking I had to do.
But in January I emailed Annelies with the request to put me on her siggy list. I ordered an ink pad here and I was ready to start making siggies myself.

 Anke was the first to send me her siggy. A start of a collection from all over the world I hope.
A special Dutch tin box to keep them all safe.
