Is it the weather???? Chicago here I come!!!!

It looks like, with the snow covering most part of the Netherlands, I finally get into the right mood preparing my visit to my friends in the US. Making some Dutch goody bags. Putting together kits for a little project.

I will fly out to Chicago on Friday and enjoy a week of winter weather in good, old, cold Chicagoland.

Visiting NSIN friends, neighbors, quilt friends and even attend a meeting of the Lincolnshire garden club!!!
But the main reason for this trip is the Quilt-In organized by my old Guild: Illinois Quilters Inc. During 48 hours of continues sewing I can catch up with all the IQI members. What a treat!!

I am going to work with this book and start with my Barn Quilt. There is a Dutch barn pattern that will definitely be in my quilt.

Here is a picture to proof I met that lady in Paducah!!! She signed a copy of her book for me.
Enjoy the winter weather and keep warm,
Rose-Anne

Little Carrousel almost AFFO

The final stitches have been made, I tried to use up all left over fabric to assemble the back of the quilt. All is left now are some small scraps ;) Yeah!!

the back all pieced together

And I finally used the "Heat Press batting together" I bought ages ago in Paducah.  It works perfectly for this small quilt.

look at that!

my new friend ;)
All I have to do now is the quilting. I will use my machine, because with all the seams it will be hard to hand quilt my little Carrousel.
Françoise has already started the new mystery this month called: Mysterie Sweet Hearts. But I still need some time to finish this one. And my dear Françoise: I won't need the "red de restjes" workshop as you can see looking at the pictures ;)

Happy Quilting,
Rose-Anne

Organizing my sewing room

This weekend my son helped me putting up some shelves. Now I have to do the rest!!
I have found some treasures while unpacking and reorganizing. On a photo board, I made myself while living in Shanghai, I stuck some pictures from quilt outings in the US. And finally I can display my quilts on the wooden rack I bought while traveling to the Amish community in Indiana.

Some pictures I found while going through all my papers. I stuck them on my Chinese fabric covered photo board.

Now the final clean up and I am ready for big things!!!
